EasyJet will operate two direct flights to Aqaba; Berlin-Aqaba and London-Aqaba

The Aqaba Special  Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Chief Commissioner Mr. Nasser Shairdeh announced that starting October 2018, the British airline EasyJet will operate a number of direct flights to the city of Aqaba, the first of which is Berlin / Aqaba in addition to operating the London / Aqaba route during November 2018.

Shraideh added, "these new routes will indeed contribute in enhancing the tourism in Aqaba and its surrounding of ​​the Golden Triangle; Wadi Rum and Petra, and the rest of the tourism sites in the Kingdom and will reflect positively on the various economic sectors in addition to attracting more investments to Aqaba."

Shraideh said "the operation of these routes came after joint efforts between the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority and the Jordanian Tourism Board with Easy Jet."

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ms. Lina Annab expressed the importance of starting these routes to Aqaba, which will contribute to the growth of the tourism sector in the Kingdom and in the Golden Triangle in particular. She also invited all operators to seriously consider operating to King Hussein International Airport,  confirming the support of the Prime Ministry and the Jordanian Government in emphasizing on the role of the Kingdom's airports in attracting more visitors to Jordan.
