Houh ingredients

  • 1-cup flour

  • ½-cup water

  • Pinch of salt

  • Butter

  • For the filling

  • A mixture of crushed walnuts with coconut, sugar, cardamom and cinnamon (measure to taste)


Directions

To prepare the houh dough ;Mix flour, water and salt with a wooden spoon.

To prepare houh :

  • Spread butter on a baking tray.

  • Add the first thin layer of the dough and brush some butter over it.

  • Add another layer of the dough and add the filling.

  • Add another layer of the dough and spread on some butter.

  • Bake in the oven at 250°C. First place the tray on the bottom rack of the oven and then on the top. Check periodically and remove when it turns golden brown.

  • Once done and cooled, top with crushed walnuts as a garnish. Add some boiled goats milk for a little extra panache (optional).
