Dead Sea

Dead Sea

It would be a travesty to come to Jordan and miss the Dead Sea. Without a doubt the world's most amazing place. At 400m below sea level, this extraordinary body of intense blue, polished smooth water is the lowest point on the face of the earth, this vast stretch of water receives a number of incoming rivers, including the River Jordan. Once the waters reach the Dead Sea they are land-locked and have nowhere to go, so they evaporate, leaving behind a dense, rich, cocktail of salts and minerals that supply industry, agriculture and medicine with some of its finest products.

The best way to visit the Dead Sea is to stay at one of the luxury resorts at the northeastern end of the sea. Here you can enjoy a spa treatment, watch the sunset across the water.
